Miami, FL - Beautiful Afghan Hound dumped at shelter!


This is Gala, a beautiful 7-month-old Afghan Hound. She was dropped off at the Miami-Dade Animal Services on December 26th. The shelter only allows the animals 7 days to be pulled by a rescue or adopted. Please consider adopting Gala and giving her a loving, forever home! Please pass this information on to anyone you know that might be able to help.

I've been attempting to call the shelter about Gala all day (1/2/09). I simply cannot get past a recorded message about what to do if I have a citation (I don't). Has Gala been rescued? I'm amazed I saw this - I lost my 12 1/2 year old Afghan on Christmas Eve. She was the most amazing friend, and my 8th Afghan hound. I now, for the first time since 1974, have no Afghan hound sharing my home. Please respond here, or to my gmail account aanya55@gmail.com

Oh - I live in Tampa Bay area or I'd have gone to the shelter. I'm willing to drive down, but not without ascertaining Gala's status.

Was Gala ever rescued? I raised Afghan Hounds for over 20 years, have had a few dogs since, but none compare to an Afghan. I am in Houston, TX, but have several friends in Florida that would be able to ship her to me. My email address is: justdancin_@hotmail.com
